Perception of forest as an important phenomenon and a place for exhibiting contemporary art has become the main motive of the JART Gallery stand at COSMOSCOW 2020 fair. This year, during our grand scale project CHA SCHA (Thicket), which is to open September 19 in the forest of the renowned PIRogovo Resort, we present painted and graphic works, photographs, installations, miniatures, sketches and maquette of objects.

This ambitious project carries on and revives the genre of site-specific art and is to take place on the shores of the Klyazma reservoir not by simple chance. Right here the very first Art-Klyazma fest was held in 2002 and PIRogovo has been the centre of gravity for various artistic and exhibition projects and a significant spot for contemporary art ever since.

CHA SCHA presents 42 objects from 28 creators, famous artists, living classics and some new names, who have already been recognised around the world. Using a map, visitors are invited to stroll along the forest and find these scattered objects, installations and pavilions, barely visually related to each other but still comprising a unified exhibition, created by curator’s wit.

The miniatures showed at the JART Gallery stand, presented at COSMOSCOW 2020, are some kind of forever-safe souvenirs resembling the monumental objects placed in PIRogovo, doomed to be destroyed by the weather and environment. Nevertheless, those handcrafted miniatures are art objects in their own right. This project has become a logical continuation of the gallery’s activities in promoting new, contemporary and relatively affordable-to-collect kinds of art.Our project has united our passion for exploration of new artistic genres and involvement of world famous artists.
