Memory ethics

School of dramaric art

November-december 2018

1/1

The exhibition was so named after the book of the modern Israeli philosopher Avishai Margalit, where he raises questions about the structure of the moral obligations that make us remember people and past events.

This is very similar to our relationship with things and in a way it is also about ecology: some people prefer to get rid of the old staff, throw it in the trash, and others will try to restore it, because this object already has great value for the person, and lots of memories are associated with it.

This is exactly what a person does with herself: one person would easily throw relations from the past and some old images of herself to the garbage,— and another carefully keeps it in her soul and tries to fix what has been broken in the past.
